About 11 million immigrants currently reside in the US; Canada admits about 250,000 immigrants per year. Pray for an increased awareness in our churches of opportunities for reaching the world already at our doorstep.

February 13
Pray for the Lutheran Welcome Center to be a place of rest and refreshment to many who serve Christ in this region. Pray for added strength for Steve and Stella as they continue to minister to those staying at the Center.

February 12
Continue to pray for the Japanese LB synod as they work toward reopening the seminary next year. Pray for young people in the churches to hear God’s call to ministry, and that churches would raise up and support these new students. Pray also for Matthew Rogness as he arrives in Japan today to meet with Dean and Linda Bengtson.

February 11
Pray for Nathanael and Carrie as they enter the second half of their year in Albertville. Pray that Carrie’s language study will continue to go smoothly and she will find many opportunities to use French in her daily life. Happy 3rd birthday to Selma today!

February 10
Pray for Andrew, Kris, Isaak, Noelle and Joey Larsen who are now back in Taiwan after their home assignment. Pray for Andrew and Kris as they start a new phase of ministry, having completed formal Mandarin language study.

February 9
Pray for Joel, Liz, Nate and Tim as they attend their group’s annual spring conference and 25th anniversary celebration. Pray that God would continue to use this organization for His eternal purposes and glory.

February 8
Praise God that Jim and Suzy Olsen found a suitable car. Pray now for a home as they settle into their ministry. Pray for them as they grow in the language and culture and for safety as they often drive the mountain roads.

February 7
Pray for safety for Jonathan, Zam-Zam and Esther as they live out the Gospel in their village. Pray that the families of the children in the school that Zam-Zam directs will be impacted by the Bible stories taught at the school.

February 6
Pray for Ethan Christofferson as he presents a paper and interacts with Hakka scholars and Christian Hakka leaders at the Hakka studies conference today. May the Hakka Church flourish and move forward in effective ways.

February 5
Pray for Paul, Teresa, Philip, Matthias, Titus and Micah. Pray as they continue Arabic language study and for other ministry opportunities that present themselves. Happy 15th birthday to Matthias today.

February 4
Pray for Dean and Linda Bengtson as they settle into their new home in Ishinomaki! Praise God that they have gotten to know many of their neighbors through their relief work. May God use these friendships to open hearts to His saving grace.

February 3
Pray for Stephen and Sandra as they are doing short-term ministry in their former location. Pray for many opportunities to share the Gospel with their Asian friends. Pray for safe travels in this month of visiting former colleagues and friends.

Pray for Dan and Rachel and their children Gabe, Sylvia, Tevi and Claire. Pray for them as they coach Zachary and Alissa Schroer for future mission work among the unreached people in Chad.

February 1
Pray for Matthew Rogness who is in Taiwan through the 6th to meet with our missionaries. Pray for their discussions and plans for future Hakka ministry in Taiwan. Pray for oneness of heart as they seek God’s direction for evangelizing the Hakka.

January 31
Pray for Joel as he holds critical FOC leadership meetings in February that will have far reaching consequences for those in ministry. Pray for wisdom and guidance for Joel and others in the decision making process.

January 30
Dan asks us to pray that Muhammad, a convert from among the people group they worked with, will seek out other believers for fellowship.

January 29
Pray for Matthew Rogness as he leaves today to visit with our missionaries in Taiwan and Japan. He will also travel to Thailand where he has been invited to the Friends of China (FOC) board meeting.

January 28
Marcos reports that a draft of the Gospel of Luke in the language they worked in is being field tested in Chad. Pray that this would be an accurate translation of God’s Word. Happy 14th birthday to Hans today.

January 27
Praise God that Miss “N” (DPN 9-17-12) has returned to the city where Joel and Liz live. She got a job and has reconnected with her church. Pray for her growth in grace and faith.

January 26
John Olson asks prayer for God’s guidance for the leaders of Victory English Fellowship in Hsinchu. The congregation has outgrown their meeting space.  Pray that they can find creative ways to solve this problem.

January 25
Pray for people in Ishinomaki who have come to know Dean and Linda Bengtson, like Mr. S, a calligraphy teacher, who invited Dean into his house and made a calendar for him. Pray for hearts to be open to the Gospel.

January 24
Pray for Andrew and Kris Larsen and their children as they visit with family and churches this month. Pray that God would continue to be at work in the hearts of friends back in their neighborhood in Taiwan. Happy birthday to Andrew today.

January 23
Pray for Potiphar (LB Seminary 2003-2004), the leader of the association of all Evangelical churches in Chad. He works to promote understanding between all religious groups and to avoid the kind of violence that has erupted in neighboring Nigeria.

January 22
Pray for Carrie as she meets with two Christian language partners on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Praise the Lord for this opportunity and also pray that they would be a spiritual encouragement to one another.

January 21
Pray for the speakers and those who gather for J-term at the LB Seminary, January 21-23. Pray that the topics discussed will equip those in attendance to better participate in God’s mission locally and around the world.

January 20
Praise God that the Special Needs Children/Parents Club has received official registration with the local government! They have been working for two years on the process to get registered. We praise God for the work that Stephen and Sandra had in the organization of this ministry.

January 19
Pray for Ethan Christofferson and other Hakka pastors who are presenting papers at a conference at Jiao-tong University in Hsinchu on mission among the Hakka. Scholars in Hakka studies at the university are sponsoring this event and are interested in knowing more on how Christians are reaching the Hakka.

January 18
Continue to pray for Steve and Stella as they administer the Lutheran Welcome Center. Pray for good working relations between them and others that work at the Center. Pray for the stamina they need for this ministry.

January 17
Pray for the church in Takanosu that God will raise up leaders and sustain Pastor Sasaki who serves this church in addition to his own church in Odate.

January 16
Marcos asks us to pray for the political and religious leaders they worked among.

Heidi Jensen, of the Christian Embassy, praises God for protection during hurricane Sandy, for His blessing on the fall ministry events and for many new contacts. May God use her to share His Gospel with many from around the world.
