Pray for Jim and Suzy Olsen as they start a new trimester of Spanish language study. Pray that they will meet their study goals before leaving for Ecuador in December to minister with International Teams.

Joel and Liz ask ongoing prayer for a friend who was pressured to have an abortion but kept the baby. The financial hardship that comes with a second child is oppressive. Pray that this child will be a blessing to many.

September 6
The Chinese LB Church gathers on the 7th & 8th to choose their next president who will serve for three years. Pray for the guidance of the Holy Spirit in this choice.

September 5
Pray that God will make clear His provision of a house and ministry building for Dean and Linda Bengtson in Ishinomaki, where they have led teams of volunteers in relief work and worked with outreach events. Pray for Joshua and Christopher as they pursue education and future career choices.

September 4
Pray for Nathanael, Carrie, Selma and Cyril as they continue to adjust to life in France. Carrie will be studying the French language and Nathanael will be a stay-at-home dad.

September 3
Pray for Stephen as he recovers from surgery he had in August for a knee replacement. They are in the States through December to be with family and friends. Pray for clarity as to God’s will regarding their return to Asia.

Pray as Hannah Christofferson begins her first year in the dorm at Morrison Academy and renews relationships with friends after returning with her parents, Ethan and Sandy, from a year of home assignment.

Pray for Marcos and Kirsten as they settle into Fergus Falls for the coming year and enroll their children in new schools. Happy birthday Kirsten.

August 31
Pray for two couples/families who are waiting and preparing to serve as missionaries to the unreached in Chad. Pray for their preparations, for financial support and for churches to send them.

Pray for John and Caristy Olson and their family who are serving with Victory English Fellowship. Pray for a Thursday Bible study that many non-believers attend.

Praise God that the young friend of Joel and Liz (DPN 4/10) is now a baptized believer. Pray for her as she relocates, that she will find fellowship and grow in faith. Pray also for a job for her.

August 28
While leading crews in cleaning homes ravaged by the tsunami, Dean and Linda Bengtson have organized concerts, BBQs and other events to meet people in Ishinomaki. Pray that God will use these practical acts of love to open people’s hearts to the Gospel.

August 27
Pray for Nathanael and Carrie and their children who are leaving for France tomorrow to continue their language studies. Pray for safe and uneventful travel.

Pray for Kristopher Kraakmo who is teaching English conversation classes through churches in the Sendai/Ayashi area. Pray for strong relationships with students for the sake of the Gospel.

Pray for Paul and Teresa and their family as they continue with studies in Chadian Arabic while managing the Lutheran Welcome Center. Pray for wisdom and strength and time management.

Pray for John and Kathryn Wile, the Pastoral Care Team for our LB missionaries. They serve in executive leadership for Barnabas International and travel to provide pastoral care for many missionaries around the world, including ours.

Pray for Mike and Delores Kittelson as they work with Victory Hakka Fellowship. They ask prayer that their training in Hakka language and culture will spark an interest and desire in Hakka friends and neighbors to hear more about Jesus.

August 22
Liz asks prayer for a friend who has been pressured to get an abortion though she is committed to keeping the baby. Pray for her and her family in this time of financial pressure and pray that God will minister to the entire extended family through this baby.

August 21
Pray for a series of lectures at the seminary being given by Dr. Makito Masaki, president of Kobe Lutheran Seminary. One other professor and six students are also coming to help with tsunami relief. Pray that the LB pastors and church members attending will be encouraged.

August 20
Praise God for Arnie and Bonita Nordaas’ 34 years of service in Japan! Pray for them as they visit with family, friends and churches in the States before settling into retirement this fall. Happy birthday to Bonita today!

August 19
Pray for Lucas (14) and Hans (13), sons of Marcos and Kirsten, as they begin their school activities at Hillcrest Lutheran Academy this week. Pray for them in their studies and friendships.

Pray for Dan, Rachel, Gabe (14), Sylvia (12), Tevi (10) and Claire (2) who are living in Fergus Falls. Pray for positive school experiences and good friends.

Dr. Eugene Boe is stopping over in Japan on his return trip from Taiwan at the invitation of a committee of Japanese pastors who are planning for the future ministry of the seminary in Sendai. Pray for clear communication and a strong sense of God’s direction.

Our outreach in Chad has seen a number of setbacks, including evacuations and illnesses. Pray for the Lord to show Himself victorious in the face of such opposition, and for the planting of His Church to advance.

August 15
Paul and Teresa write that their daughter, Mercy (18), will be leaving home tomorrow to pursue studies in France. Pray for God’s continued grace in her life and for His leading and protection.

August 14
Stephen and Sandra are back in the U.S. They would like to return to their ministry in Asia after Christmas but ask for prayer to discern God’s will for their future. Pray for them as they interact with Asian students here in America.

Pray for Hannah (14), daughter of Ethan and Sandy Christofferson, as she begins high school at Morrison Academy in Taichung, where she will be living in the dorm. Pray for the Christofferson family as they adjust to this change in their lives.

Pray for Dean and Linda Bengtson as they work with volunteer cleanup in the tsunami area. Pray that God would guide them to a home and a place of ministry in this area.

Since Dan and Rachel’s return to the States, Paul and Teresa are managing the Lutheran Welcome Center until new personnel are found. They ask prayer that they might serve well in the meantime.

Pray for Ethan, Sandy and Hannah Christofferson as they return to Taiwan today. Pray for safe and uneventful travel. Pray for Caleb who will remain in Montana to continue college.
