November 12 Pray for the people of Chad as severe flooding in the south is causing famine, sickness and driving people out of their homes. The flooding has now moved north to Ndjamena as the swollen river from the southern rains floods. |

November 11 Today is the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church, a day to pray for persecuted Christians worldwide. Let us also pray for the oppressors, for nations that promote persecution and for those who advocate on behalf of the persecuted. |

November 10 Pray for Nathanael, Carrie, Selma and Cyril as Carrie continues her French language study. Pray for Nathanael as he cares for their children and home, which enables Carrie to concentrate on her studies. |

November 9 Pray for Pastor Sasaki who is pastoring the Takanosu Church along with the Odate Church. Pray for stamina and restful opportunities for him. Pray that the members of these churches would grow in faith and grace. |

November 8 Marcos asks prayer for the people group of Chad that they worked with. Pray that God would soften their hearts toward His mercy and grace. Pray for Marcos as he continues part-time for LBIM in language translation and developing mission resources for this people group. Happy birthday to Marcos today. |

November 7 Pray for Joel and Liz in their duties of administrating the many workers who are sharing their faith through their jobs in this creative-access country. Pray for Liz as she relates with her neighbors and friends. Pray for an effective educational environment for Nate and Tim. |

November 6 Starting November 1st, Steve and Stella (DPN Oct. 2012) are relieving Paul and Teresa of the duties of administrating the Lutheran Welcome Center. Praise God for this provision! Pray for God’s anointing on their management of this vital ministry. |

November 5 Pray for Mr. D, Ethan and Sandy Christofferson’s religious but non-Christian friend. Pray that the Holy Spirit would open the eyes of Mr. D’s heart to the Gospel. |

November 4 Pray for a volunteer team from Ohio that is working with Dean and Linda Bengtson from November 4-15. Their main task is mudding-out the Abe family’s home in Shintate. Pray that the Abe family will see Jesus in this labor of love. |

November 3 Pray for health and safe travel for John and Kathryn, and that their messages from God’s Word will bring encouragement and renewal to the missionaries in this creative-access country. Pray also for stamina for two months of intense ministry. |

November 2 Pray for the indigenous Chadian missionaries who are working among unreached people groups. Since conditions are often difficult and dangerous, pray for strength, courage and protection. Pray for many to be reached for Christ through their sacrifice. |

November 1 Pray for Andrew and Kris Larsen and their children as they leave Taiwan for a two-month home assignment. Pray for smooth travels as they visit Hope LB Church in Everett, WA, and then fly on to Minnesota to celebrate Kris’ grandmother’s 90th birthday. |

October 31 Pray for Kristopher Kraakmo who is teaching English at the Seminary Church in Sendai. Pray for many opportunities for him to befriend students and share Christ with them. |

October 30 Andrew and Kris Larsen ask prayer for their son Isaak’s tennis coach. Pray that the Lord would use the relationship they have with him and give their family many opportunities to share the love of Jesus with him. |

October 29 Pray for two couples/families who are in preparation to go to Chad and minister to the lost. Pray that we will be able to soon send these missionaries to these people who have no witness in their language and culture. |

October 28 Continue to pray for Patience and Mercy, daughters of Paul and Teresa, as they are both in France. Patience is in her final year of culinary school and Mercy is working and studying. |

October 27 Pray for Marcos as he continues with LBIM in a part-time role, moving the translation project forward for the people of Chad. |

October 26 Pray for the church in Takanosu that they may grow in leadership and numbers as they worship and fellowship without the leadership of Arnie and Bonita Nordaas. Pray that the many seeds of God’s Word that were and continue to be sown will reap a harvest of many believers. |

October 25 Continue to pray for Mr. L and his family. Pray that their hearts would be softened toward the Gospel. Pray that Christians would befriend them and show God’s love to them. |

October 24 Pray for Roger and Sue Olson at Japanese Ministries in Seattle. Pray for the college students who come for English practice and Bible studies. Pray for Sue who is recovering from cancer surgery and is in the midst of radiation treatment. |

October 23 Stephen and Sandra report that 27 families with special needs children attended two summer camps of The Gift Center. Pray that the parents who came to know Christ will be nurtured by local churches and share their faith with families who don't yet know Him. |

October 22 Pray for John and Caristy Olson as they minister in the English congregation at Victory Church. Pray that God would use them in sharing His Word through preaching, Bible studies and small groups. |

October 21 Dean and Linda Bengtson continue relief work and building relationships with many in Ishinomaki. Pray for those who attend concerts and “home blessing” services, that they will have a hunger for the Gospel. |

October 20 Pray for Jonathan, Zam-Zam and Esther; for continued guidance and protection for the school that Zam-Zam oversees. May God continue to use the school to spread His Word. |

October 19 Stephen and Sandra write that their time of living in Asia has come to an end. They ask prayer that they can continue ministering to the families of special needs children who have been involved in the Gift Center ministry from here in the States and an annual short-term trip to Asia. |

October 18 Pray for persecuted believers in Pakistan. Asia Bibi, mother of 5, is currently on death row after being convicted of blasphemy. A 14-year-old girl, Rimsha Misrak, is in jail for allegedly desecrating the Qur’an. Pray also for their families. |

October 17 Nathanael, Carrie, Selma (2) and Cyril (1) are living in France as Carrie continues with intensive language study. Pray that God would be their source of strength in study and family life. |

October 16 Mike and Delores Kittelson ask prayer for the men of Victory Hakka Fellowship in finding ways to encourage each other in faith and mission as they reach out to family, friends and neighbors. |

October 15 Arnie and Bonita Nordaas have completed a re-entry seminar and have visited LB churches to update them on their final term of ministry in Japan. Pray as they settle into the retirement phase of their life in Florida. |
|
October 14 The Japanese seminary sub-committee charged with plans to re-open the seminary in 2014 gave a very positive report on Dr. Eugene Boe’s visit with them in Sendai (DPN 8/17). Pray that the Lord will grant them wisdom in developing a plan for future ministry training. |

October 13 Pray for Mike and Delores Kittelson as they travel home for a month to celebrate Mike’s mother’s 90th birthday and to help with family matters relating to her move into assisted living. Happy birthday today to Delores. |

October 12 Pray for Steve and Stella who have volunteered to serve in administration at the Lutheran Welcome Center, which enables Paul and Teresa to concentrate on their Chadian Arabic studies. |
