Pray for Paul and Teresa who have returned to focusing on learning Chadian Arabic. Pray for progress in the language and adequate study time. Happy birthday to Paul today.

Pray for Stephen and Sandra who are traveling back to the creative-access country where they served. Pray for safe travel and opportunities to minister to those they befriended and worked with in past years.

January 11
Pray for Zachary and Alissa Schroer as they work and continue French and Islamic studies in Eau Claire, WI, in preparation for coming on LBIM staff this summer. Pray for their support, in prayers and in finances.

Dan asks us to pray for Malloum, a Chadian LB missionary among the people group they worked with, who has recently made contact with a new community! Pray that his time spent with them will serve to effectively share the Gospel.

Pray for Jim and Suzy Olsen, now settling into life in Ecuador, where they will serve with International Teams in an outdoor retreat center ministry.

January 8
Pray for Kristopher Kraakmo who returned to the States at the end of December after teaching English at the Seminary Church in Sendai, Japan. We praise God for his ministry these past 2½ years.

January 7
Paul reports that there has been a wonderful response from the churches in their city, from laity and church leaders, for training in discipleship and ministry. Pray for continued strengthening for the churches of Chad. Happy 17th birthday Philip.

Pray for Mr. W who wants to become a Christian but finds it hard to give up his ancestor worship rituals. Pray for release for him and his family. Pray for Ethan and Sandy Christofferson as they work with them.

Joel and Liz write, “This past year has been marked by an increasing number of denied visas to colleagues we work with…pray that visas would be granted to those who wish to serve.”

January 4
Pray for Dean and Linda Bengtson as they move into their new neighborhood in Ishinomaki this month. May the friendships they have built through tsunami relief work bear eternal fruit. Pray that God will lead them to prepared, hungry hearts.

Nathanael and Carrie are enjoying a pastoral care visit from John and Kathryn. Pray for renewal through God’s Word. Pray also for their time with Nathanael’s brothers, Samuel and Andrew, who are visiting them over the New Year’s holiday.

Pray for Mike and Delores Kittelson as they proclaim the Gospel through friendships they have made. Pray for the Spirit to also speak through their music ministry. Happy birthday to Mike.

Pray for Eloi, a Chadian missionary among the people group Dan and Rachel are working with. His house fell down during the rainy season and he is discouraged. Pray that he and his family will have new opportunities to share the Gospel with their contacts.

Andrew and Kris Larsen ask prayer for friendships that they have been forming in their community. Pray that while they are on home assignment, the Holy Spirit will continue to work in the hearts of these people.

December 29
Pray for John and Kathryn as they travel to Chad to minister to the LBIM staff there and also stop in France to visit Nathanael and Carrie. Pray for safe travel and for good health during their travels.

December 28
Pray for the relationships that Joel and Liz and their sons have in their community. Pray also for continued good educational experiences for Nate and Tim.

Our LB missionaries want to start working with the Hakka in the En-ling Church in Qiong-lin. Pray that several Christians from this church would hear and respond to God’s call to partner with the missionaries in this ministry.

December 26
Pray for God’s blessing on the varied translation projects that Marcos is continuing while on an extended leave of absence. Happy 15th birthday Lucas!

Christmas is a reminder of the lengths that God went to in redeeming His lost creation. Today we celebrate the gift of salvation through His Son. “Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!” 2 Corinthians 9:15 NIV

December 24
Pray for Dan and Rachel and their family. Pray also for their mentoring (coaching) ministry with Zachary and Alissa, our next missionaries to Chad.

Jonathan and Zam-Zam report that their school is off to a good start. Pray for completion of a security wall that will boost security and help the school to gain private school status.

Pray for Dean and Linda Bengtson as they use creative ways to start conversations with their new neighbors about how and why God came to us in His Son.

December 21
Pray for many Christmas outreach events. Christmas generates interest, causing many to ask about its meaning. Pray for Mike and Delores Kittelson as they use the celebration of Christ’s birth to share the Gospel.

December 20
Pray for the Chadian Church during this Christmas season, that they would use this celebration for outreach to their neighbors, bringing “good news that will cause great joy for all the people.” Luke 2:10 NIV

December 19
Pray for the staff, volunteers and believing parents of The Gift Project as they proclaim the true meaning of Christmas. This outreach to special needs children is drawing many to Him and giving families hope through fellowship.

December 18
Pray for Mercy and Patience, daughters of Paul and Teresa, as they both seek God’s will for their futures. Both would like to attend a Bible college next fall. Pray for God’s direction and provision.

December 17
John and Caristy Olson have been invited to have a small program during a Christmas event held in their apartment complex. Pray that this will be a chance to meet neighbors and that the Gospel will be clearly heard by them.

December 16
Pray for these Chadian missionaries to the people group Marcos and Kirsten are working with: Abel, Mathieu, David. Pray for protection for them and their families and for their testimony to God’s love for us in Christ Jesus.

December 15
Jim and Suzy Olsen graduated from language school in Costa Rica yesterday and leave today for Ecuador to serve with International Teams. Pray for the processing of their visas and for a home to rent.

December 14
Pray for Dean and Linda Bengtson as they move to Ishinomaki, while Joshua and Christopher remain behind in Sendai. Pray for the family as they make these adjustments. Happy birthday to Christopher.
